J.R. Cruise
Today I have someone coming out of Gardena at the age of 18. I have been listening and following this guy for a while, thanks to my cousin who actually pointed him out to me and attended the same tennis program and as J.R. Cruise. When my cousin told me that he was a rapper I asked him to show me one of his songs and he had me hooked with his laid back music. I downloaded his mixtape and made a CD and it has been in my car playing over and over for the past 2 months, I am being real here too. His mixtape, Mr. Righteous, was well put from the beats he chose and the quality of it and just shows the confidence he has in himself and his music which is needed to make it in the game nowadays. The thing is he is not coming off cocky either as other rappers do in their songs, yes there is a difference between the words cocky and confident. He also throws in a few struggles of what up and coming rappers have to deal with such as haters but that didn't stop him from putting out good rhymes and flows. Also a lot of rappers metaphors nowadays are sports related but when was the last time you heard someone with a tennis related metaphor? Never, now that is 100% original just look at these lines "and I’m serving weak niggas that’s Agassi with no racquet", "and I got advantage like I'm about to win a tennis game"!This guy is putting that laid back music that we are craving when you are either chillen, smoking, thinking, studying. His songs are truly inspirational and motivating for me as it makes me think that I can also achieved my goals. J.R. has his dreams of becoming big and I think he can achieved them because its been a while a "New West" rapper stays active with their music. He is always putting out new music and videos. I most definitely support him and his music. So stay tuned for the interview and in the meanwhile follow him on Tumblr and Facebook

Interview with Revolutionary Rhythm coming soon.
Like I said I am going to be looking out for LA music artist that I will sit down and I will interview so they can let you know what they are about, with their music and as an individual. So I decided that these two guys, Kid Abstrakt and Predominance, went to the same high school as I did at the same time as I did, yet I didn't know they had the same thoughts on the state of hip-hop as I did let alone knew that they even spit some of the dopest rhymes. The beats they use are simply put you in that mood where you instantly start bobbing that head of yours. Their mixtape, "Just Listen", is great from the intro to the last song. I have been looking for an album/mixtape all my life where the beats consistent with the mood you were in the last song and the lyrics have a deep meaning as the last songs and the flow is incredible and I have always found out that it was always either one or two but never all in one, until I found these two guys from my high school. I didn't hear about them until I was out of high school actually, since I was moved to a continuation high school and knew little of what was going on in my old school, and I was on facebook looking for "New West" rappers and I stumble upon their page. I took a listen and I instantly was hooked on them. I went on youtube and started to look for their videos, I also started to ask my friends if they knew about Revolutionary Rhythm and they told me about them and that I was a whole year late on what they were doing. I started to research as much I could, I like to educate myself about a rapper(s) I like and follow, so I can see what they are about but in their mixtape they basically say what they are about. They are true hip-hop! I will have the chance to sit down with them and interview them since I know the fans want to know a little more about them and I definitely want to dig deeper into these two MCs out of my area. Interview coming soon!
You can follow them in the meantime on their website Revolutionary Rhythm or Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, MySpace
